Bad News First:
Melinda Kleinman, Class of 1981, informed me that her sister, Sonny Kleinman passed away last year from a long battle with Breast Cancer.
Sonny is buried in the Parklawn Cemetery –Menorah Gardens located on Viers Mill Road, Rockville, MD.
Sonny was Pure Joy. Funny and Compassionate.

Okay, folks.
A little envious here. I just returned from the Class of 1975’s 35th Reunion and they hit a home run.
There were 90 people in attendance.
And, how did they do it?
Facebook.

It looks nothing like ours. We have email addresses for 257 people. They were unable to secure any. Our site is current and interactive.
Over the next six months I will be in touch about our 35th on June 11, 2011. 35 years after the day we graduated. (June 10, 1976).
We will also have our reunion at The Crown Plaza in Rockville, as the hotel provides some ease in planning such an event.
Last night, I learned a lot about what to do or what not to do.
So start your planning now. No excuses. Placed it on your calendar today.
We will work at leveraging Facebook for the event. We could use some help.

Another lovely evening was had by all and we had a few surprises with folks we haven’t seen in 35 years.
Very exciting.
They were pleased to be back in the fold as well.
Details to follow in a few months about the 35th to be held on June 11, 2011 in Rockville at the Crown Plaza across from Congressional Plaza.

Fortunately, we are now about to launch a Alumni Newsletter, as a classmate has come forward and is willing to do the work. Look for it on the website in coming months.
And, even better. A friend of the class, is going on Facebook and finding the MIA’s. Exceptional news for us.
Over the next year, look for an email from me personally to you.
In that email, there will be a lot of boiler plate paragraphs with a specialized paragraph speaking to our history and relationship.
I will then personally invite you to join us for the 35th. It will take one year to complete this task.

There are two stories I wanted to bring to everyone’s attention about, “Reunions,” but didn’t want to overwhelm you or your email account.

One story is about the Class Quarterback/Valedictorian returning to the 20th Reunion as a woman and being warmly received.
The other story is from Joel Stein with Time Magazine returning to his 20th and how he was welcomed.
